Standing and only 6.5 mm tall with slightly domed crystal, this Girard Perregaux 1971 ultra thin, is a sophisticated yet casual piece. Housed in a 34 mm stainless steel case, in unpolished condition, with the original signed crown, this watch has a nice feel for being by all standards considered a dress watch.
The traditional Calatrava style case inadvertently draws all attention to the beautiful, rich, and perfectly intact blue brushed finished dial. The color although simple, the overall execution screams elegance. The use of the white hand applied hour markers and white hands provide excellent legibility. The choice to match the GP logo with the center of the hands color steel does not detract at all from the piece. The lack of a running seconds hands puts all of the focus on the dial.
The watch features the original strap and signed GP tang buckle from the factory as well as the original crystal. The Girard Perregaux caliber 12.4 movement was cleaned and regulated prior to sale and is keeping excellent time.
